Awesome Albums: La Sardina Test Roll #3 by vicuna

Summer is just around the corner so we might as well start flipping through the sunshine-y awesome albums of our fellow lomographers! Let's begin with a beautiful set taken in scenic French Polynesia!

The islands of French Polynesia are some of the most sought after by adventurous beach-goers and sun worshippers, especially those who can afford the luxurious island chic experience that it offers. For our fellow lomographer vicuna, however, a short and expensive stay in this paradise on earth simply won’t do, so in 2009, he flew all the way from France after snagging a teaching job on Raiatea Island, about 200 kilometers northwest of Tahiti. Of course, he brought along a portion of his camera collection, but also adding several more during his stay. A La Sardina was one of the cameras he took for a test drive back then, and the photos from his third test roll are simply stunning!

Our fellow lomographer tells a detailed story about his four-year adventure in French Polynesia in our newly-launched LomoMag for the iPad, so why don’t you check it out as well?

Or, you can also check out the Location articles he wrote on some of the lovely spots he visited: The Coral Garden of Taha’a, Bora Bora, the Pearl of the Pacific, and Raiatea Lodge Sunset Pier with La Sardina (where the snaps above were taken)!

The Awesome Albums series is exactly what it says on the tin — it’s a love letter of sorts from the Editors addressed to user-uploaded albums that had caught their eye and had inadvertently fallen in love with. Please understand though, they’re really just here to express their love and nothing more.

Thanks a lot @plasticpopsicle for picking out this album! :) I only have great souvenirs and amazing moments in mind when thinking about these fantastic 4 years I spent on Raiatea island :)
