It can't be a tilt shift lens if it could be used on a Leica M, that would only work on an SLR. I think all those camera bodies were a red herring...

it IS a lens, it will be mounted in all of those cameras, and it will be wide angle and/or panoramic. And it will be named Goat-58, or Russian Goat, or GoatVision, or something like that.

Obviously it won't fit on a reflex camera. So it has to come with a viewfinder. It has to be wide angle but not a tilt/shift lens. A regular fisheye would just be too easy. I'm still sticking with the anamorphic lens prediction.

Yup yup I am still sticking to my guess that it's a lens adapter for the Petzval so you can use it on various cameras ...

@scootiepye Me too... I'm hoping for M42 or T-mount Petzval, maybe with real diaphragm... I think Waterhouse stops are bogus, even in 1870! However, that silhouette looks like a very short focus, extreme wide angle lens, so, how about a M39 fish eye?? The only other guess is Mir 1 37mm f/2.8 copy in M39 with back focus shortened to fit FED/Zorki/Leica and adapt to mirrorless. Mir 1 was from 1958, but it was M42 and Zenit M39 SLR mounts...

@herbert-4 I'm hoping for a selection of Petzval adaptors! he he and I thought I was a geek nerd you certainly know your stuff!

@scootiepye The bad thing about current Petzval is that Nikon and Canon mounts have too long back focus and too large diameter to be adapted to anything else. I think Petzval should have been a T-mount with adapters for everything in the world. The decision makers in LSI are just too young, sometimes...

based on that silhouette, a short focused lens... with a very wide angle... well, the 'wide angle' is the main keyword here.
goat can see up to 300 degree angle...then, something similar to (oh sorry, wider than) the fish eye lens..
