Awesome Albums: First Konstruktor Album! by kibs

Given the fact that it’s a do-it-yourself camera that you have to build from the ground up, the Konstruktor may appear intimidating to some. This doesn’t seem to be the case with kibs, who shot lovely and vivid photos at first attempt, and produced enough images to fill up a fancy album.

Kibs, a lomographer from Dallas, USA, took the Konstruktor for a test drive late last year and came up with pretty impressive results. She loaded the Konstruktor with Agfa CT Precisa slide film, which she cross processed to produce the crisp, vivid photos for her First Konstruktor Album. Here are some of kibs’ test shots.

“With this test album I wanted to try various conditions: low light, bright light, doubles etc. The camera handled low light actually pretty well, maybe a bit better than extremely bright light. After each photo I would the film advance crank to the point where it stopped. By doing so the film was advanced 1 1/2 frames, which is why I have fewer photos. Either I put it together wrong or I should not advance until it stops. I love the feel of this camera although found it a bit hazy when trying to see the subject in the viewfinder. All in all I love this camera! So fun to use something you’ve put together!”

Not bad for a first timer, ey? Why don’t you try shooting with the Konstruktor yourself? There is so much more that you can do with the Konstruktor nowadays, with the addition of Konstruktor Accessory Kit that includes DIY Close-up Lens and Macro Lens, plus a Magnifying Chimney Hood Kit for a superb experience while using your Konstruktor camera! Visit the online shop for further details.

The Awesome Albums series is exactly what it says on the tin — it’s a love letter of sorts from the Editors addressed to user-uploaded albums that had caught their eye and had inadvertently fallen in love with. Please understand though, they’re really just here to express their love and nothing more.
