Coming Soon: Analogue Vibes for Digital Lovers - Part 6

We've divulged so many clues already, and by now you’re probably overly ecstatic about our mystery product. Allow us to relay all our clues again, and give you a better idea.

We have come up something so innovative that it brings together several features all in one package.

  • This exciting, ingenious product will be a source of analogue vibes for digital lovers.
  • It will let you capture the world in an array of colors, and every moment in a different hue.
  • It will let you easily merge two worlds into one.
  • It will let you see the world differently and transform ordinary scenes into knock out visions, giving you an amazing view of practically anything in sight.
  • Our new product is designed to bring *a more creative twist to evolutionary and highly-sophisticated mirrorless technology. No mirrors or pentaprisms, just mind-blowing high-quality quasi-analogue images crafted through digital means.

Now, do you know what our mystery product is? What could possibly allow digital lovers to be so creative and yet produce analogue lovin’ results?

We will be launching it tomorrow, October 17. Please take note of the launch time in your zone:

New York – 7:00
London – 12:00
Vienna – 13:00
Hong Kong – 19:00
Tokyo – 20:00

I'll stay with my previous guess: A digital camera (mirrorless, of course) with interchangeable lenses (M4/3) and MX/color filter ability.

Or maybe the opposite, a m4/3 system analog camera... yeah I guess not.

a bit of a grey area there in rule 8.... "you don't have to know....." is not the same as "you MUST NOT know...."....:)...:)...

@djramsay - see rule 10, the perfect scapegoat Those who still see Lomography as the picture of purity should really take a closer look at their business practices. They're as opportunistic as the rest.

Some Lomography app. There are already clip on and magnet add on lenses for smart phones, as well as color wheel attachments. The Lomography app would do the rest of the work for the digital user. Add fisheye effect, vignette, wide angle, and of course ME

I went through all the clues, here is what I think: Clue 1: Device with a Viewfinder that shows exactly what you will get, probably a large one like the LCD's/ touch screen as we see in most modern cameras. Clue 2: Fitted with filters that can be changed just like we change aperture. Most importantly is integrated to the body so that other lens can use the feature too. Clue 3: Easy double exposures, with the press of a button. But since you can never be sure when the other magic/ must click moment would come, there is a film rewind marker that tell you exactly the one frame you are going to double expose. Clue 4: Kinda related to the Clue 2 feature, adjustable lens opening, or an external lens filter/ attachment. Clue 5: Feel this is somewhat related to the first Clue 1, a viewfinder (EVF)/ LCD (that is unnecessary I feel), as we have in most mirrorless cams/ that gives you exact reproduction of what you see. It would be great to have a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) in a Film Camera !!! Clue 6: Basically, it can be a mirrorless with the sensor replaced by a film (which is the otherway round in case of mirrorless as they draw their inspiration from Film, see FujiFilm's X series). That has filters and effects embedded in the lens mount and has additional lens filters too And oh the WYSIWYG viewfinder/screen ;) ("LOlz too much to think but as they saw, What you predict is mostly what you desire so much...")

Maybe it's a digital mirrorless camera with lomo style lenses and filters, but no playback function. Or heck, maybe there's no screen at all! Then you wouldn't be able to see your photos until you upload them to a computer, keeping the same surprise element that film has. I don't know, just a wild guess.

In the email arrived today they speak about Micro 4/3 photography, and the MX clue obviously tells that it's a complete camera, not only a lens! It could be a digital lomographic camera... Building it without a display could preserve the surprise of not knowing the results, and it would resoult in a lower price. It could be also completely manual, that would be fantastic!

I was going to say it sounds like it's just one of those Holga wheel lens kits but for a 4/3 camera system. However, as I've read the hints and such, it is possible it's going to be a full digital camera. I don't know how they could pull that off being an analog company. Wouldn't it be the first and only digital camera in their catalog, and thus negating their analog world?

If these are photos taken by the new product look closely at the the broken mirror and you can see a camera. However I can't make out what the camera is if it is the new product at all.

Lomography memory is fragile and apparently see it as just bury the brand to create digital products. Hope it's not a digital camera or mobile app. "Newsflash - We don’t need our mobile phones to breathe. Computers are not works of art. The internet is not as beautiful as the beach. An app will not save your life.  Analogue is authenticity. Analogue is truth. Analogue is reality. It’s time for us to embrace the Analogue Future. And what a fantastic future it is - A place full of love, joy, fun, sex and photography! There are so many exciting possibilities, so many new things to experience. So many snapshots and colours and shades and tones. So don’t delay - Join us on the Lomography love train. Destination Happiness! The 10 Prophecies of the Analogue Future spell out how to turn our vision into a reality. Go ahead and accept the luck and surprises in life. Nay, don’t just accept them. Treasure them. Laugh about them. Love them. They breed excitement and exhilaration, ecstasy and elation. They are what make us free, they are what make us human. Let loose! The Analogue Future is no pipe-dream. You really can make it a reality NOW. Remember golden rule No.3? Lomography is not an interference in your life, but part of it. Analogue photography encourages us to connect with the world around us, in the moment. So, don’t be detached from this reality. Embrace it. Embrace everything it has to offer. Go on and live the life of Lomography. Go and live the future…"
