A New Exciting Video and Photos Shot with the Petzval Lens: Plus Sign-Up for Updates on The Petzval Pre-Order!

We’ve been testing the Petzval under a variety of conditions, and have been getting rather striking results.

If you’re one of those unlucky souls who didn’t get to pledge for the Petzval Lens on Kickstarter, you’re in luck! Soon the Petzval (D)SLR Art Lens will also be available on the Lomography Online Shop for pre-order. If you’d like to receive an update on its availability, simply fill out this form and we’ll deliver the news right to your mailbox.

Keep in mind though, that we will be prioritizing the delivery of all Kickstarter orders before we attend to orders made through the online shop. It’s the least we can do for all our backers love and support for the project.

We recently used the Lomography (D)SLR Art Lens with a Canon 5D to shoot a bunch of photos indoors, and at night. Here are a couple of those bokeh-licious shots!

Our friends in Belgrade, Serbia, have been busy testing the lens as well, and to our immense delight, created a new video shot entirely with the Petzval. We hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we did!

The new Lomography Petzval (D)SLR Art Lens is a reinvention of the legendary portrait glass lens that first appeared in the 19th century. Our version is a high-quality glass optic that makes it possible for Canon and Nikon analogue and digital SLR mount cameras to yield the famous Petzval look – sharp focus areas with unique bokeh effects, strong color saturation, and artful vignettes. It’s a distinct look that goes far beyond using photo editing software and filters.
