Awesome Albums: Chasing the Northern Lights by shoujoai

The Northern Lights (or the Aurora Borealis, if you want to be scientific about it) are perhaps one of the rarest and yet the most coveted sights that a Lomographer could hope to capture. Not to make you feel jealous or anything, but did you know that one of our community members has actually actually managed to do the feat? Take a look!

Using a Lomo LC-Wide that was loaded with Fuji T64 Pro film, the album Chasing the Northern Lights by Lomographer shoujoai was taken on Thingvellir National Parc, Iceland.

They’re not exactly the sharpest photos taken in the planet obviously, but I guess that’s a good thing (lest we all want to die in envy).

But just the same, the photos are all shades of breathtaking, awe-insipring and fantastic, aren’t they?

Nope. I’m not jealous or even the least bit envious. Not one bit.

The Awesome Albums series is exactly what it says on the tin — it’s a love letter of sorts from the Editors addressed to user-uploaded albums that had caught their eye and had inadvertently fallen in love with. Please understand though, they’re really just here to express their love and nothing more.

I am not envious, too. Nevermind that it's the northern lights. Nope, definitely, certainly, absolutely not envious.

Okay, just a very teeny bit, @shoujoai!

I like the shadow person shape in the first and fifth pictures. I miss seeing the lights in Alaska.
