Heading to The Big Apple anytime soon? Better check out this rad exhibit in Chelsea, showcasing photos of NYC during the late '80s. Read on to find out more and take note of the show's details!

ClampArt in New York City’s art district, Chelsea, has an ongoing group exhibit showcasing artworks and photos by both established and less-familiar artists. Entitled, “NYC, c. 1985,” the exhibit presents The Big Apple in transition during the 1980s, from a period of “near ruin” with cultural highs and lows, to the dazzling metropolis the world has come to know in more recent times.

Aside from giving a glimpse of everyday life out in the streets, in nightclubs, and during parties, the exhibit also highlights the fashion and music scenes of the era. Highlights of show include portraits of Madonna and The Clash shot by Amy Arbus, and Run DMC by Janette Beckman. Photographers Gunar Roze and Keizo Kitajima likewise boast of street portraits and downtown nightlife snaps respectively.

The exhibit opened in May 23 and will run until July 3, 2013. So, if you’re going to pay The Big Apple a visit one of these days, here are the details you need to take note of:
