Hasselblad to Cease Production of 503CW Model

It’s another sad time in the film photography world as Hasselblad announced last week that it will cease the production of its distinct 503CW model.

The decision, effective immediately, is due to the camera’s decline in demand over the past years, according to Dr. Larry Hansen, Chairman and CEO of Hasselblad.

“Everything has its place in time. The veteran 503CW combined with an extensive V System range of interchangeable lenses and accessories, was for seventeen years the camera of choice for discerning professionals and aspirational amateur photographers.

But while production of the camera has stopped, the company says that they will still continue to provide the V System accessories while stocks last, as well as their support and customer service.

Sad to see it go but it was a very niche camera with a hefty price tag to match, nice article
