As Lomographers, we love to share our ideas with one another and that’s exactly what we’re asking for here. If you have a secret tip to share with the rest of the community on how to get the very best results from your new Smartphone Film Scanner, we’d love to hear from you.

If it’s a quickie tip, please post it in the comments section. If you’re tip involves a bit more explanation, please submit a tipster article (our Tipster Submission guidelines are here) so we can share your tutorial with others.

For each tip posted here before April 14th relating to how to use the scanner, we’ll reward you with 5 Piggy Points to spend in the Online Shop (Piggy Points will be awarded in the week after April 14th). All accepted Smartphone Scanner tipster magazine posts submitted in April will receive 10 Piggy Points on publication.

We are particularly interested to find out about other apps which you find useful in making your scans. We currently have a first version of the Lomoscanner App for iPhone available and appreciate any feedback you may have on that after testing it – Please send any bug reports or suggestions to help@lomography.com so we can improve the app. We will continue to improve the Lomoscanner app based on all your feedback so we can make it as great as possible.

Quickie tip: By far the best quality scans can be made with PureShot app! Lets you save the image in a tiff dRAW format, resulting in decent files to invert and edit in photoshop. More info on the app can be found here: http://jag.gr/pureshot/

Quickie tip: To view Black and White negs as positives on your iPhone, use the "white on black option". Go to Settings->General->Accessibility->Triple-click Home, and then select the Invert Colors option.
When you put your iPhone on the Lomography Smartphone Scanner's backlight over the B&W neg you'll see it inverted, you can now take a screenshot by clicking the home and lock at the same time.
Here's the video where I got the tip from: http://youtu.be/32OUwkNMvOA
