Hi everyone! Firstly, thanks so much for all of you who have already pre-ordered rolls of LomoChrome Purple - We’ve been blown away by the fantastic reaction to the film from the community. In this article, we go through some of the questions we have received about the film so far to help give you the information you need. If you have any questions which aren't covered here, please post it n the comments and we'll get back to you!
When will the first batch of films be delivered?
The first batch of LomoChrome Purple will be delivered to customers in July 2013. This delivery date applies to all countries except for customers living in Brazil and Russia (to customers living in these countries: We will do everything we can to get these films to your region soon!).
Why is the delivery date so far away?
The reason the film will take a little while to be delivered is that your order will help finance this exciting first production and LomoChrome Purple takes a little bit longer to manufacture than your average emulsion. LomoChrome Purple is a totally new film and developed from scratch!
Is LomoChrome Purple an Infrared film?
No. Whilst we were inspired by awesome infrared films such as Aerochrome, we decided to make LomoChrome Purple a regular color negative film and not Infrared. This decision was made based on feedback we received that people would love to get the effects of Infrared film without the hassle of using additional filters.
How do I develop LomoChrome Purple?
LomoChrome Purple is developed using C-41 chemicals.
Do I need to use additional filters to get these effects with LomoChrome Purple?
No additional filters are needed to get these effects: they are produced totally naturally.
How many exposures does each 35mm roll of LomoChrome Purple produce?
Each roll of 35mm LomoChrome Purple produces 36 exposures when using a regular 35mm camera.
Is it possible to pre-order fewer than 5 rolls?
Unfortunately not – At the moment, it is only possible to pre-order 5 rolls or more of LomoChrome Purple. But by pre-ordering, you will get the film at a great price.
What’s special about this first batch of LomoChrome Purple?
The first batch of films will have a special note to prove you are one of the original LomoChrome photographers – Also, as this will be the very first batch produced, the results of this run could give you unique results compared to when it goes into mass-production!
How many rolls of LomoChrome Purple are available in the first batch?
We have 4000 rolls of LomoChrome Purple 120 and 3500 rolls of LomoChrome Purple 35mm available for pre-order.

Looks great! I would like to throw in my feedback that I want the effects of color infrared film WITH the hassle of color infrared film. So don't give up on that yet, please still consider making some color infrared down the line. Also ...vegan film please. This would be amazing for sooo many people to have a animal cruelty free film.

I also request real false colour infrared film and also to produce real B&W infrared with spectral sensitivity >80% at >900nm. Efke has quit making 820IR, I've read, and the others are just wimpy. I have the filters. Also I count myself as an apex predator and ferocious carnivore. Thanks.

Thank you for answering these questions. I am especially happy that the film is meant for C-41 processing as no labs in my city will cross-process anymore and getting any E-6 processing done is very difficult. Hoot hoot I can't wait.

@zeewierkoekje - The film will become available for normal orders sometime after July - sorry, at this stage we cant be more specific on the date. The price for a single roll wont beat the prices we are doing for the pre-order.
@john341264 - No it doesn't. The results of the film later in mass production may be different but not better than those shown. We will work to optimize the film even further when it is in mass-production.

Hi I am really psyched for this film and Pre-ordered 15 120 rolls and 10 35mm rolls and when I payed everything went thru fine, I was not told at the sale transaction it was sold out! So...my question is when do I get my 25 rolls that I already "pre" ordered and pre-payed for and why didn't it say sold out at the time of sale?!
