Time sure flies when you’re having fun! Here we are with Lomography’s best of the best for November. Sure seems like it was just yesterday, huh? Let’s see what milestones and events we had as we take a look back!

Lomography’s Newsmakers

What was cooking in the analogue world back in November? We’ve got a brilliant engineering student who builds a TLR camera from scratch. Imagine that! Our favorite scribe and Lomo Amigo, Neil Gaiman, also visited our office.

November is also the month that the Belair camera took flight. Each package was carefully wrapped, signed, sealed, and delivered. We also introduced Mr Liang Yuan Qing, who is one of the first lucky Belair owners.

And of course let’s not forget the biggest milestone of all: Lomography turned 20!

Living the Analogue Lifestyle

In celebration of our 20th anniversary, we took a look back 20 years of analogue photography history in the making. See how it all began! And speaking of beginnings, we highlight Lomography's most popular newcomer photos of all time because hey, we all started somewhere.

Moving on, November also saw groovy vintage camera ads from the 60's. We were also treated to a tutorial of sorts, on how to kiss. I may have been doing it wrong all this time. One of the most iconic photos of all time, John Lennon and Yoko Ono, 1980 by Annie Leibovitz was discussed in great length, and exquisite portraits by the community using the Lubitel was featured as well.

We had interviews with some interesting people as well. We touched base with photographer Frank Machalowski, talked about musician & producer Sam Kassirer's carft, and asked Martin Usborne about his work with animals.

Reviews

November saw the first salvo of reviews from our brand new baby, the Belair. We’ve got the Belair X 6-12 Jetsetter in Spain, and the Belair X 6-12 Globetrotter arriving in Taiwan. A technical review down to the specs was also written, as well as a short, sweet, and succint one. Everybody wants their hands on a Belair camera!

We also saw in action the Reader's Digest Panoramic Camera, the Canon Speedlite 155A Flash for the AE-1, the wide angle capabilities of the La Sardina, and a brief outing with the Lomography Redscale 100.

Instants got some love as well with a review of the Fujifilm Instax Mini 7s and one of the Fujifilm Instax Mini 25.

Tipsters

For our Tipsters in November, we’ve got quite a lot of diveristy! Firstly, we have tips on how to maximize using medium format film. One gives general advice while the other extols the virtues of using a rangefinder. This is perfect for zone focusing cameras such as the Lubitel and the Belair! Speaking of which, we’ve got a quickie tipster on how to hold the Belair properly so that you don’t get blurry photos!

We also have a 10 step guide to superb minimalist hotography, a tutorial on how to develop color film in rodinal, a simple way of adding zest to your black & white photos, how to shoot redscale in overcast weather, how to get pretty multiple exposures with flowers, turning old audio cassettes into table lamps, as well as a handy sunny16 guide for your toy cameras. It’s been a busy month!

Locations

The Locations are all about capturing stunning vistas and awe-inspiring sites across the globe using our trusty Lomography cameras. And in November, that’s exactly what we got. We spent a day to visit Emperor Qin's Terracotta Army#, see all the pretty colors of Siam, walk the streets of New York, as well as walk down off California's beaten path. A trip to Russia’s iconic Church of the Savior on Blood is an interesting sight to behold.

We also take a look at the wine regions of the world, and the smallest countries as well.
