Mr. Imagine's Toy Store in Chicago

In conjunction with its recent exhibit, the Chicago Children's Museum is proud to open Mr. Imagine's Toy Store.

Last month, we wrote about The Global Cardboard Challenge by the Imagination Foundation alongside 9-year-old Caine Monroy, the creative kid behind the DIY all-cardboard arcade.

Now, we’re here to bring you news about the new and fun pop-up shop by the Chicago Children’s Museum called Mr. Imagine’s Toy Store.

In line with the museum’s most recent exhibition, Unboxed: Adventures in Cardboard, Mr. Imagine’s Toy Store invites kids (as well as kids-at-heart) to let their imagination run loose and create their own toys out of the multitude of cardboard boxes found in the store.

“According to CCM Director of Public Relations, Chad Mertz, the store will be stocked with flat cardboard boxes, and “customers” can come in and build toys in a cardboard studio workshop. The museum will provide some 27 examples of the kind of toys that could be built, but kids will be encouraged to go wherever their imaginations take them." — TimeOut Chicago

Mr. Imagine’s Toy Store will only be until this Sunday, October 21; while the Unboxed exhibit will be there until May of 2013.
