Brent Rawlinson: Chicago Native and Staff of Lomography Chicago

Whether its film photography using toy cameras, hacking VCRs and old video game consoles to produce analog visuals to accompany music, building furniture out of 100 year old barn wood, or reconstructing vintage clothes, Brent has an admiration for the byproducts of the past.  In a modern commercial world of disposable product, Brent finds ways to re purpose, reuse, redesign, and ultimately re-appreciate the forgotten relics of yesteryear.

This Do-It-Himselfer graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a degree in Music Business, which he vows to one day use. Currently he works for a company building, and refurbishing Photo-booths and taking them to events as well as building his own vintage business. He is also proud to be one of the first Lomography Gallery Store Chicago employees.

Much of Brent’s work, life, art, and esthetic appreciation revolve around the concept of “collections”.  Meticulously gathered and pruned to be a visual representation of a simple concept.  His photography is a collection of the people he has met, the places he has been, and the interesting and peculiar things he has found along the way.

Brent has brought his film hungry cameras all around the United States, England, and Spain. Along with his beloved LC-Wide one of his favorite cameras is the Vivitar Ultra Wide and Slim. This tiny simplistic plastic camera is responsible for capturing some of his favorite photos. His favorite film is Lomography cross process 200.
