This past weekend, I had the chance to check out the works of some promising local artists showcased at the Bloom Arts Festival held in Cubao X. It was my first time to immerse myself in an art festival, so, after the event, I went home happy and full to the brim with all things beautifully artsy!
September 29 was a night promised to be overflowing with good art and music, and indeed, the Bloom Arts Festival did not disappoint. Many fellow seekers and lovers of art flocked to Cubao X to see what some of today’s young and vibrant artists from all over Metro Manila have to offer—an indication that there are actually some great stuff to expect from art gatherings such as this one.
More than 80 artists participated in the arts festival, where they showcased their works in various spots around Cubao X. Visitors had to check the map to see where they could find the masterpieces of their favorite artists. I was looking forward to spotting some of the photos taken by Aleyn Comprendio, who I recently got in touch with for a quick interview.
Bloom Arts Festival featured a diverse roster of visual treats, from paintings, sketches, photographs, and illustrations, to conceptual art and live sketches/graffiti art. The marvelous string art, which became the centerpiece of the festival, was also a sight to behold. However, the event would never be complete without good music—several local musicians specializing in diverse genres took care of that.
The Bloom Arts Festival was a resounding success, leaving participants, spectators, and art lovers wanting to have more of it in the future. It’s a refreshing experience for those who are used to visiting quiet galleries to muse at art, so I’m sure that just as I am, many are also looking forward to the next art festival to visit!
