People vs. Places: A Double Exposure Collaboration

People vs. Places is a creative photo collaboration between photographers Timothy Burkhart and Stephanie Bassos.

The idea is pretty simple – Stephanie takes the roll of 35mm film first, and shoots a whole roll of only people. When she’s done, she rewinds it and gives it to Timothy, who in turn, reloads it on the same camera then snaps away photos of various locations.

This double exposure project allows us to step back from having full control of the image making process and trust in one another while allowing coincidences to happen naturally on film. – People vs. Places blog

Film swaps and collaborations are not uncommon in the Lomography community and the rest of the analogue world, and this project is just one of many proofs that love and passion for photography is enough to bring people together.
