The moment had finally arrived for our Lomo Amigo Diet. What started out as a joke has resulted in a beautiful exhibition in the Lomography Gallery store in Amsterdam. This of course calls for a celebrating on its opening night.
Over a year ago our Lomo Amigo Diet told us she wants to bring her photography to a higher level. She wanted her own photo shoot. On top of that, she wanted to work together with Dutch celebrity Horace Cohen for her first real photo series. Horace liked Diet’s brave and bold attitude and agreed to work with her.
Everything was prepared to perfection. Diet used her favorite cameras (the Lomo LC-A+, the Diana Mini and the Nikon F65) and film (the Lady Grey zwart-wit 400 iso). She directly knew the shoot should take place at a typical authentic Amsterdam house. Within a few days everything was set resulting in as many as 12 rolls of film. That leaves her to making a selecting out of all those precious photographs. After careful consideration the photos were chosen to be sent to the printer. Read about the complete adventure in this article.
It was quite some work to prepare the exhibition space. Luckily Store Manager Jos was there to help Diet. Here are a few digital photos from the preparations:
Friday September 21st 2012 was the big day for Diet: the opening night of her very own photo exhibition. The whole Lomography Gallery Store team was immensely proud. Same goes for sponsor AFK (Amsterdam Art Institute), Horace himself and all Diet’s friends who came to the opening night at the Herengracht. Both the photos and the exhibition looked perfect and the party was a blast.
Of course we also shot some analogue photos:
Were you at the party and did you take some analogue photos? Please share the links to your photos in the comment section! Did you miss the party? Feel free to stop by! Diet’s exhibition will stay in the Gallery Store Amsterdam until October 21st.
