Life at Ithaca College: A Photography Project

“Hey, I just left this camera here for the day. Take some fun pictures with you and your friends! I’ll be back later to pick it up.”

In the morning of September 20, members of the student social media team of Ithaca College, a private school in New York, strategically placed a number of disposable cameras on the more popular spots in the campus with a note encouraging students to take a photo.

By the end of the day, nearly 10 cameras have been filled with a collection of self-portraits, and snippets of friendship and life at Ithaca. You can check the whole gallery of photographs here.

While the idea of leaving cameras lying around for other people to have fun with isn’t exactly a new concept, there’s just something great about it. It provides us a glimpse of how people see the world, and the chance for us to be shown the type of beauty around us that we did not see before.
