One fine almost sunny day at the Lomography Gallery Store Soho, a group of intrepid lomographers decided to walk on the wild side and explore the darkest depths of Spitalfield’s city farm. Find out how we got on here.
What: Getting Echo-Chic with the LCA+
When: Sunday 20th May
Where: Lomography Gallery Store Soho
Yes, we learnt all about the wonder that is the LC-A+ with it’s beautiful, crisp, super saturated lens. Once we’d familiarised ourselves with the ins and outs of this brilliantly easy to use camera we headed out East to see what we could find down on the farm!
After negotiating the crowds of Spitalfields and Brick Lane, we found ourselves scampering around in an urban oasis of sheep, pigs, goats, ducks and donkeys! There was an almost festival atmosphere down at the farm; with a band playing some good ole country songs whilst people wandered around with drinks in their hands. There were stalls selling home-made eco fashions, delicious looking food, great craft items, and even a face-painting stall to really get into the spirit of it all. There was a slightly odd moment down near the donkeys when an argument broke out between the donkey woman and another woman about her dog….very weird.
There were sheep shearing demonstrations, a really cute but slightly spongy feeling sheep and some crazy goats. There was also the cutest little lamb that was so new he could barely stand up! But my favourite was defo the little donkey that was giving out donkey rides to children. What a cutie!
Once we’d had all our fun at the fair, we headed out to get some lunch from Sunday Up-Market on Brick Lane, as we just couldn’t walk past all these delicious smells! Yum!
What a great day!
