The Photographers Gallery Grand Reopening in London

Open, then closed, and now, The Photographers Gallery is wide open once again for as many people as possible to come inside. And boy, has it been worth the wait! Check out these black and white photos from the grand reopening in SoHo.

TPG’s team have been working non-stop since the closure to revamp, redesign, and relaunch one of the best photographic hotspots in town.

Now spread over six floors, the new architectural endeavour on Ramilles Street is nothing short of impressive. Upon entering you are now greeted by a flat white and an anti sneeze guarded croissant in the beautifully positioned cafe on the ground floor. Hip coffee joints don’t look much better and I know you’re screaming to yourself, “Finally, a place to get a half decent coffee in SoHo!!”

The multiple floors show off the fantastic use of natural light, and give (semi) spectacular views of a gay bar, a nursing school, and the back of a building facing Oxford Street. But who needs sights when you can see photographic gems blown up on each freshly painted wall?

After pumping yourself full of photographic inspiration, hop on the elevator, head down to the basement floor, and behold what can only be described as a photographers cave of treasures. The bookshop covers the entire basement, offering anything and everything from Capa books to Porter bags (my all time favourites), from Japanese mooks to Fuji Natura Classica cameras!! Marvel in its beauty, be inspired by its photography, and no doubt relieve your wallets in their cafe and shop.

Welcome back TPG, we’ve missed you!

The Fuji Natura Classica is an exceptional, light-sensitive camera which allows you to take stunning analogue photographs using only available light. Its Natural Photo mode detects the subject’s brightness and adjusts the exposure accordingly, eliminating the need to use flash. For images that radiate natural beauty, get your own Fuji Natura Classica now!
