This past May, the Lomography Gallery Store Toronto was pleased to present a special Lomography exhibition, Two and a Quarter, as part of the Scotia Bank CONTACT Photography Festival. CONTACT is an annual photography festival in Toronto, with over 1000 local, national and international artists exhibiting at almost 200 venues. It is the largest photography event in the world, and a premiere cultural event in Canada. The festival is devoted to celebrating, and fostering the art and profession of photography.
What: Two a and Quarter as part of CONTACT Photography Festival
When: May 3rd to May 31st, 2012
Where: Lomography Gallery Store Toronto
This exhibition showcased 17 distinct and talented photographers who work with analogue photography in their practice. We invited them to celebrate the square image with us and to use their imagination and creativity to create a unique photograph using the Diana F+. The Diana, which creates beautiful, lo-fi images, is originally a camera of the 1960’s and is a simple, plastic medium format camera that inspires a global community of fans.
The group of artists created an exhibition that highlighted the creativity possible within the square image, from stunning black and white images and multiple exposures to cross processing and beautiful compositions. Below is the collection of images from the exhibition. Make sure to check out each artist’s personal website!
