On May 15th, join thousands around the world in using the power of photography to create, share and compare perspectives on daily life! Find out how you can be part of the www.aday.org project and make history in the world of photography!
Jeppe Wikstrom is the Swedish photographer and founder of Expressions of Humankind Foundation who came up with aday.org.
“Our global photo project is taking place on May 15. This is a unique inclusive single day photographic project involving professional, semi-professional and amateur photographers – in one day we are going to capture everyday life all over the world!” says Wikstrom. While the event starts today, you have until May 22 to share your pics.
The collected images will creat a web resource, especially for education. One thousand images will also be selected for inclusion in a global exhibition and a book that will be published in at least ten countries. We are working with the National Archives in Sweden and several other institutions to ensure that this resource is kept, treasured and made available for generations to come. This basically means that we are all sending a message to the future.
There are photographers from 159 countries registered and the project is supported by the Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Virgin Group founder Richard Branson, and pop star Robyn.
“We are more aware of each other than ever before in the history of human life. It’s more than a perception these days, now it´s a fact that there are so many different ways to look at the world. Aday.org puts this in focus.”
Whatever you choose to shoot will be an important contribution to the project so make sure to submit your fantastic Lomographic photos! Read up on photography tips, learn how to upload photos, find out more about the project, and be part of photographic history!
