Hi, I'm Irina Shepel and I'm a graphic design student. I am about to get my BA diploma this year. So, for my final project, I decided to work on something interesting and vivid: a magazine about Lomography! Here are some of my sketches in preparation.
Before creating the final product, I practiced designing posters about Lomography.
All cameras and other details were first drawn by hand on paper with pencil. Then they were scanned and further colored in Photoshop. I chose a colorful palette to show the variety and joy of Lomography as it is such a charming kind of photography and art which everybody can try and get pretty good results!
At the same time, I also kind of feel this invisible connection with Lomography, as it first started in USSR a long time ago, my home country. :)
If you want to participate in my project, I am open to any ideas. Contact me (ishepel) if you want to be part of it!
Visit my gallery for more visual details of the posters.

THIS. IS. AWESOME! I would love to buy a few posters if they ever become available. Lomo should let you make a link in their shop. I wanna subscribe to the magazine when it becomes available too.
Can't wait to see what comes next. :-)
Thank you! I still need some help for my future magazine, so feel free to contact me on any ideas :)
Also the posters are availablefor buying here http://www.artflakes.com/en/shop/ishepel
very cool! you are indeed talented :) good luck with your project and the completion of your diploma, all those all-nighters are worth it at the end :)
Thank you people! for all the support, it really brings energy and enthusiasm to carry on this project, although its quite hard to be accepted in the uni ...
this looks great =)
Did you maybe think of doing one page or at least a half for each rule? ore somehow organize them different? You can illustrate these so well, it would be a pity to not do that, I think!
I really would liek to help you, though I don't know if our drawing styles would fit (to get an idea: I do different drawing styles, for lomography contest about the 10 prophecies I once made a video out of single panels I drew with watercolor. the video is no longer online but you can see the frames here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/24469920/DSC00273.JPG)
I also draw digital, got a wacom bamboo one and a tablet pc. Let me know if you think I could help you.
best wishes for your project!

The Meopta Stereo 35 aka The View-Master Camera In my junior year of college, I had a crazy idea for a project for my directed study class. I wanted to create my own view-master reels, and to my surprise a view-master camera not only existed, but was available for purchase. Everything about this camera was a difficult trial and error challenge, but the end results are a one of a kind gem.
Use Two 110 Films on a 35mm Camera for Crazy Awesome Shots So there are a lot of tipsters and hacks on the web for using 35mm film on different format cameras, so I went and tried using 110 on a 35mm camera, and this is pretty much what I got on my first try. It’s a bit of a process, but it’s also lots of fun, then again, what in Lomography isn't?
Camera Modification: Turn your LC-A+ into a Rainbow Camera! Personally I am a huge fan of redscaling. It allows you to get some color in your photos, even on the grayest of days. But what if you just want to add the redscale effect to just some of your photos rather than shooting an entire roll this way? Easy enough: use a red filter! And while you're at it, why not throw in some other colors as well?! Read on to find out how you can turn your LC-A+ in to a rainbow camera!
for special offers, tips & tricks, free photo upload, prize-winning competitions and a magazine full of: locations, art, design, reviews and everything analogue photography.
