Exploring Lalaland with the LC-A+

We walked to the local hotbed of street art, Melrose and Fairfax, to see what we could find. Along the way, we happened upon someone updating a wall-sized mural and the wide angle lens of the LC-A+ was perfect for the occasion. Perfect timing!

As you would expect, it was a warm and sunny winter day in February… Perfect conditions for taking a stroll through the back alleys of Melrose and Fairfax to see what street art we could find with our LC-A+. Using film to capture art created the analogue way—with spray paint, paste and paper—seemed like the perfect choice for this group of new and seasoned Lomographers alike.

After a short presentation on everyone’s favorite 35mm camera, the prized LC-A+, we headed out of the Gallery Store into our local urban jungle; through the tree-lined neighborhood streets, to the colorful back alleys and parking lots around the intersection of Melrose and Fairfax Avenues. There was a treasure trove of art to capture in the parking lot of De La Barracuda Boxing Club. We continued further down Melrose. When we turned the corner to head back to the Gallery Store, we came across an artist working on a huge, wall-sized mural. He spoke with us for a few minutes and answered questions before we let him get back to his “canvas.”

It was a great walk, and we look forward to more forays into our urban jungle. The great thing about street art is that it’s always changing so you have to capture it before it’s gone!

The Lomo LC-A+ is known worldwide for its amazing features: automatic exposure, extended ISO range, and multiple and long exposure capabilities. Get your own Lomo LC-A+ now!
