We are looking for dedicated American Lomographers who want to get more involved in the international Lomography Community. You will become a representative of Lomography in your city, as well as a well known regular contributor to the Lomography International Magazine, and get freebies, opportunities and LomoLove from us! Sound awesome? Know the details after the break.
Do you want to share your city with the world?
Do you like writing?
Do you love Lomography?
Then you could be one of our brand new CitySlickers!
What the hell is a CitySlicker?
A CitySlicker is anyone (a newbie film photographer, a hardcore Lomographer, a student, or even a professional) hand-picked by Lomography who regularly writes interesting lifestyle pieces about their city. Each month, Lomography will set a writing task for all the CitySlickers! For example:
‘Cover a local exhibit/gig in your town and share it to the community’
‘Fill us in on life at your university’
‘Try out the brand new XXX camera and write about your experience’
… or anything that’s analogue, creative, and inspiring under the sun!
How to Be a US CitySlicker
Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the following bits of information:
(Subject) US CitySlicker: [Your Nickname]
- Full Name
- City (only the cities listed below will be considered)
- (Most importantly) Why you think you’d make a great CitySlicker
We need 2 (two) CitySlickers from the following locations:
Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Brooklyn, Chicago, Columbus (Ohio), Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Durham/Chapel Hill, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Milwaukee, New Orleans, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Portland, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Diego, San Francisco, Santa Fe or Albuquerque, Seattle, and Washington DC
You will earn special Piggy Points for every article published. You will also have the chance to get your hands on a range of Lomography products and goodies from us! We also often get invited to festivals and events around the country that we can’t go to, so we will be happy to pass these on to you from time to time so you can go and shoot them and review them as your monthly task. Alternatively, if there is an event you particularly want to cover we can use our evil powers to try and get you a press pass! Above all, we will support you in publishing and publicizing your writing.
This opportunity is voluntary, unpaid, and is only open to those who live in the United States (in the cities mentioned above). You do not need to be an experienced or a published writer but experience will help us to choose you, so please include any relevant links in your application.
