The exhibition revolves around concepts of identity, sexuality, and performativity in a captivating mix of colour and black and white photographs.
Amongst the B&W shots, the works of Samuel Fosso and Seydou Keïta stand out. Based in Bangui, in the Central African Republic, Fosso, like Sherman, is best known for a series of self-portraits in which he assumes different roles.
All the photographs on display belong to the Moderna’s permanent collection; a collection of photography among the foremost in Europe. So if you don’t manage to make it to the exhibition before April 22nd, the Museum is always worth a visit.
