Sunday March 4th at the Lomography Gallery Store Greenwich, we held and amazing class with 9 eager Lomographers ready to learn the in’s and out’s of film. We covered everything you need to know about choosing the right film for your lighting situation, and choosing the right film for you.
From color negative to black and white negative, to the difference between slide film and cross-processing, we discussed it all. We learned, what is film, exactly? As well as how film is processed, a little bit of it’s history, different formats, and the array of results you can obtain from over 50 different varieties of film still available today!
We choose from an assortment of Lomo films based on what we wanted to shoot today, and what style we wanted to explore. Everyone chose something different, with fantastic results! We were also able to select any Lomo camera that we had our eager eye on to try, so we were able to choose both a film unique to our own voices and styles, as well as a camera that had a format suited to us. It was amazing what we could do once we knew a little more about our choices. Overall we had a blast being ourselves with our photographs. Now we can’t wait to explore all of the different films we can find!
Grab your favorite camera and join us next time we offer this fantastic workshop that is perfect for beginners and those advanced Lomographers alike who are looking to expand their knowledge of film!
