Federico Pietrella's Date Stamp Paintings

Actions speak louder than words. Pictures paint a thousand words. But what about numbers? Roman artist Federico Pietrella shows us how digits can be transformed into works of art. See his literally innumerable paintings after the break.

Born in Rome and now living in Berlin, artist Federico Pietrella has different approaches in paintings. He creates them using flashlights, photocopies, resins, and other miscellaneous objects. One method which Pietrella uses in particular is making art through rubber date stamps.

From afar, Pietrella’s paintings look like typical black and white works of art but with a closer look, his creations turn out to be more complex and intricate. Let’s take a look at some of his masterpieces below:
