Stop. Point. Shoot. The Art of Street Photography Workshop Photos

Lomographers hit the pavement to capture all the action during a street photography workshop.

The streets are no stranger to analogue enthusiasts. If you are dedicated to having a camera with you at all times, the city will perpetually present candid images that are well-worth capturing and sharing.

Local photo-takers gathered at the SF Gallery Store to learn the
history, philosophy and strategies of street photography. We all
agreed there is no way to do it — it’s all about combining
personality and trusting your instinct. Be bold and
take the photos that you see on your walk to work, bus ride home or as
you walk the dog. No time like now.

The workshop motivated and inspired participants with examples on how to document subjects in natural situations with no manipulation. To capture the organic and evoke emotions with your images — that’s street.

The link between the Lomographer and street photographer is strong.
It is all about trusting your gut and when a moment presents itself you quickly press that shutter.

To be bold and daring.

Rober Doisneau explains it best:

“…all these images that are growing old so gracefully were taken
instinctively. I put all my trust in intuition, which contributes so
much more than rational thought. This is a commendable approach,
because you need courage to be stupid…”

The streets are a place that have no shortage of images. Be there first and take the photo!
