Spotted: Analogue Cameras on Killer Elite

Launched this year, Killer Elite, a movie featuring three great actors (Jason Statham, Robert De Niro, Clive Owen) is including a couple of film cameras in it. Read more after the break.

“Based on a true story, Killer Elite pits two of the worlds’ most elite operatives – Danny, an ex-special ops agent (Jason Statham) and Hunter, his longtime mentor (Robert De Niro) – against the cunning leader of a secret military society (‘Clive Owen’ ). Covering the globe from Australia to Paris, London and the Middle East, Danny and Hunter are plunged into a highly dangerous game of cat and mouse – where the predators become the prey.” (via imdb)

The action takes place in year 1980. In the movie appears a lot of film cameras like Ricoh KR 5 and Olympus XA (used by Jason Statham to take picture of a dead guy) which is a very compact camera that is perfect for for professional assassins.

The Ricoh KR5 was used by a SAS agent for surveillance.

I loved the movie, especially the part about the cameras and seeing one of my favorite actors taking a shot with it. If you love action movies and film cameras, I recommend this one. Film is not dead!
