Guy Fawke's Bonfire night and what better way to capture the explosions of colour painting the London skyline than with our panoramic marvel, the Sprocket Rocket!
After a quick workshop on the how’s and to’s of the camera in store… we headed off to Battersea Park, Sprocket Rockets in hand. Despite the huge crowds, everyone was able to capture some amazing long exposures as the fireworks crackled overhead.
The weather held off and the panoramic frame and exposed sprockets meant everyone had photos bursting with colour.
As the last of the fireworks lit up the night’s sky we turned our attention to light painting and multiple exposures with a flash leaving us shooting in Battersea Park long after the crowds had dispersed into the streets of London.

Like the subject, but the Sprocket Rocket is never my first choice for low-light situations. It's pretty light hungry, so even with a flash the range is limited. I just received my Fritz the Blitz, so I might be able to use it indoors and at night more now. I have a Holgon 120MF that provides enough light, but the beam is too narrow and the unit is too heavy. You CAN shoot low light with B mode and a tripod, but you still have to operate the trigger with your finger.
