Kodak has just announced that it will discontinue its production of Elitechrome 100, aka EB3 in 2011.

Recently, Kodak announced that the production of Elitechrome 100 (EB3) will be ceased by the end of the year (2011). It is surely a sad news for lomographers, as EB3 is a very versatile slide film. It is a great and relatively cheap film as far as slides are concerned. Personally, it is one of my most frequently used slides because it provides good colour shifts, as well as fine grains.

Kodak is discontinuing its production, so those who want to catch the last train must act fast. There should still be some in shops available for a short period of time. After that, we will have to switch to other slides like EBX, E100G, AGFA CT100…

Here are some popular shots using the EB3:

We will miss this film. We will miss its versatility, its colour shift, and all those memories that it brings to us

You can read the notice from the Kodak website

Hmmm, luckily I still got 11 rolls. But, I need to restock! Please save Kodak Elitechrome, I love their saturation and contrast.

it's coming to every films.. EB3 is my first step into lomography. It's not really the same as the EBX. EB3 does not have too much green shift after cross processed. It only makes the photos more saturated and contrasty. That's how I love it.

Just bought the last three rolls for 4,29€ per one, the Extra Color is the same price. We have also DM Paradies 100 Dia here which is re- labeled Elite Chrome for 2,95€ per roll. I have nine rolls now, but I need to hoard more :)

I've been submitted the English translation of this campaign for several days,
and wish @lomography @phoenix1206 can really support this campaign and let more lomographers known. It's not the time of considering the business issue of Lomography itself, it's even more important to save our ANALOGUE FUTURE. There are advantages to Lomography if we saves EB3 successfully: more and more people return to analogue photography, more and more people choose slides for cross process, more and more people choose Lomography's camera.
