some sort of filming devise ? or is it a dragonfly saddle made from humming bird leather ?

It looks like something on board an aeroplane. AHAHAH. Okay but seriously. I hope it's a stop motion camera. Goodness knows what something like that will do to my bank account...

defenitively a 35mm movie camera!

panchoballard
Will it be available online on Thursday?
tomas_bates
@panchoballard - Yes it will be available online on Thursday - More specific information about the launch times will be coming in the next few days :-)

Yeah I think its going to be some sort of movie camera...
Just because I am sure I have seen a similar kind of "full - empty" measure on some old 35mm movie cams.

Will it have controlled 24fps motor so we can synch sound?
panchoballard
I'm convinced it's a stop motion camera so I doubt it will be anywhere near 24fps.

A working 35mm moviecam in a good condition would cost at least about 3.000 Euros and even more. So I think it´ll be rather a Super8cam. Cos the filmcounter looks exactlly like on my Super8cams
superlighter
@freelancer do you know how does it cost to develope Super8 films? a fortune! and I don't see them anymore in shops for ages. I'll bet it's something that work with common film rolls.

@superlighter I agree with you I think and hope they have developed an 'action' camera with a mask that will 'slice' 35mm film (nice and cheap to dev) at least into three panoramic strips and then you can edit after into a lovely film, I can't wait I miss using my Canon super8 so much!

@superlighter: in germamy you can get the super8 cartidges here: (http://www.wittner-c(…)8_filmm.php) development included. Common 35mm filmcontainers have up to 36 pictures.
That means a 1second and some squeezed-movie if you film in 24 or 25fps. Cheap Super8cams use mostly12fps. and one cartridge has about 3minutes of film! So do the math and you need about 100
35mm-containers for approximately 1,5minutes of movie.
I think it´s either a action-sample-kinda-thingy or a super8cam. Whilst Lomography bougth tons of tons of Super8 Filmstock (like they do with their rebranded "Lomography Color Negatives and Slides and b/w") and sell them for 30 Euros including developing. That´s what I would do ;-)
cheers mates

looking at the movie http://www.youtube.c(…)bEwNgzM1RMI of the previous post it looks like it's a 4fps run, so with a 36exp film (with the actual Supersampler mask) we can archive a 36sec long (or more) movie! file under: guesses, conjectures.

may not sync w/ audio, however I'm excited about the prospect of a silent film era style movie!

@freelacer Who would buy a tool that can be fed only through the manufacturer? Not me, definitely! :) however, are only conjectures, we just have to wait and see, I'm sure Lomography will surprise us once again! cheers

Is it a refillable terrorist bomb!? :D

Your absolutly right @superlighter! We´ll see the big surprise on thursday. Unless then we´re gonna stay excited!! :-)

it would be so cool if it was a 4fps film camera, that slices 35mm frames into 4 frames. this would make 36 seconds of film onto one roll.
to digitalize would be a harder part, but it would be cool.

I think it's a motion film camera. Lomography brought film back to the masses, and now home videos....um...films. Awesome!
cfib
maybe some sort of motor-driven supersampler (seeing the frame format of the video in the other thread)

I think I've figured it out , but I will keep to my self : )

maybe a camera that runs on fuel?? : )

Ok so that is a hand crank for a spring, like winding a watch or clock, so could be for advancing film automatically. Also could be a simple crank to advance film like those old fashion 35mm Charlie Chaplin cameras. Than again could just be a auto winder, capable of making sequential photos. Also a camera I will have to have.
