Last weekend, a few magazines arrived at my home. The surprise was there for me: In the second page of a decoration magazine from a known national store: a Lomo camera as an object of design.
I always try to keep my collection of cameras in a safe place, because my little son is quite too curious. But I got to admit that I would love to keep a pair of them over the desk or over the living table.
Last weekend, I was reading this month’s edition of decoration magazine of a multi-store in Chile and I got very surprised when in the second page, over a table in a very stylish living room (at least for me :D), appears a romantic Holga 120 CN! In any place I would be able to identify this camera, because it’s one of my favorites.
In the following pages, my level of happiness was getting bigger and bigger when I saw the same camera again in the next images: on a desktop, on a shelf, over a dinning table, etc.
One thing else: I think that the young people (a.k.a people born in the 80’s, also in 70’s and the early 90’s) have the analogue mark and the analogue love inside. Thus, many of us, Lomography lovers, would be interested in other pieces of decoration of the store. But that’s the point I guess some designers or maybe some economist see in us: the new consumers on these kind of stores. Anyway, after looking at this magazine, I don’t mind buying a table or a shelf, but maybe I would be a little bit interested in getting more film :D
