San Francisco Lomographers stroll down a Mission district gem.
Situated between 17th st and 18th st on Mission is a narrow corridor splashed with numerous murals by up and coming artists. Clarion Alley is home to over 150 murals, some spanning multiple walls and some small enough you’d miss it on your first walk through.
On a beautiful sunny day in the Mission a group of Lomographers made sure to capture all the little details of this art filled alley. Upon entering the alley visitors are greeted with a menagerie of color, art styles and emotions ranging from psychedelic pieces, politically driven creations, raw street tags and everything in between.
It was a perfect day to take a walk down Clarion Alley because a handful of artists were there working on their murals as we were walking by. One artist made a remark about all the shutter clicks that were coming from our group and suggested he painted a red carpet for the occasion.
It was the first time for many of the Lomographers that joined in on this walk down Clarion Alley. For them it was chance to get to know a vital part of the San Francisco art community all the while taking numerous photos of this always enchanting alley way.
