We know that the grand opening of Lomography Los Angeles' second base at the Lomography Gallery Store Santa Monica has y'all excited and thinking about that surf city by the sea! But once you've loaded up on all your analogue flair, then what? We have a few spots we could show you - here's a list of our favorite places to shoot.

Santa Monica Pier

This is a goldmine for Lomographers and only 5 blocks from our store! Take your camera on the giant Ferris wheel, or into the arcade, capture an unforgettable sunset or light paint after dark! Before you leave, head down to the beach where you can get some great silhouettes under the boardwalk or you can just play on the balancing bars, rings, and swings nearby.

Third Street Promenade

Literally just one block away from our store, lies The Third Street Promenade. Be sure to people watch, while grabbing quick shots of performance artists that line the sidewalks. You might also spot a star or two wandering the shops.

Venice Boardwalk

Just 10 minutes south of our store lies Venice Beach, an ideal place to photograph. You can capture skateboarders, bikini-clad beauties, and muscle-bound men and women lifting weights at the apt-named "Muscle Beach." There are so many things to shoot, make sure to pack lots of films!

Venice Canals

While you're at the Venice Boardwalk, don't forget to walk inland and see the peaceful canals. That's right! Venice, Italy isn't the only city boasting its own canals! A bit tamer than the boardwalk, you'll be able to photograph picturesque footbridges, unique houses, and possibly even a local or two paddling in their canoes, enjoying the sunshine.

The Getty Villa

If you're more in the mood for high art, drive about 5 miles north on the beautiful Pacific Coast Highway to the Getty Villa, where you can be immersed in ancient Greek and Roman art. There is a beautiful garden with sculptures just crying out to be photographed!
