Are there a lot of LomoLovers here who are into skateboarding as well? If you are one, then you would probably dig this: Format Perspective is a documentary film about skateboarding and photography filmed entirely using Super 8.
Skateboarding has been a huge part of me and the skateboarding culture continues to influence me. It’s been around for years and just keeps growing and growing. Let’s check one of the documentaries that features the love, the passion, and the aesthetics of six European skate shutterbugs.
Directed by Phil Evans, It focuses on the lives of skate photographers Alex Irvine (London), Bertrand Trichet (Barcelona/Tokyo), Nils Svensson (Malmö), Richard Gilligan (Dublin), Sergej Vutuc (Heilbronn), and Stuart Robinson (Belfast). Their work from the skate sessions they shot are also showcased as well as their opinions about the skateboarding culture.
The film was released recently and a number of ongoing screenings are being held all over Europe as well as in California. Here’s the trailer:
You can check the Format Perspective website for upcoming premiers. Be sure to catch it if ever you’re around one of the screening locations.
