RECAP: Rockets View from Above @ Lomography Gallery Store Soho

What was the Sprocket Rocket made for? Why for big, wide, up high, down low panoramas of course. With tourists swarming down below, what better way to shoot London than from above? The great thing about this plastic panoramic partner is that you can either shoot sprockety loveliness or crisp clean sprocket-less seams. So we did both.

We left our Soho store and jumped on the London underground to St Pauls. While most tourists flock to St Pauls and head straight up its beautiful cathedral walls to feast their eyes on London’s view from above – I knew a little secret. With the brand new roof terrace at One New Change, not only we did we get to fill our panoramics with the Tate, Battersea Power station, the Millennium Bridge and all the other London locations from the top– St Pauls itself was picture perfect and what felt like just a few steps away.

As magical as it was the view from above was not enough to satisfy our need for the wide. From St Pauls we walked over the bridge and along to the Southbank…We shot the rows and rows of endless books on the river side, the brightly coloured line of beach huts and some got up close (a little too close) to kick flips and ollies in the skate park.

To end the day we all settled down in the sunshine at the E4 Udderbelly festival area with a drink (always the perfect ending to a Lomowalk, don’t you think?).
