Fête de la Musique en Manille

The summer solstice is the longest day of the year. And on that day since 1982, the world has had the Fête de la Musique to celebrate it with. Originally held in Paris, the festival has since grown to be held in more than a hundred countries worldwide.

This year’s Fête de la Musique in Manila was held on a drizzling June 25th. It was moved from the 21st, the day when the summer solstice occurs, due to worse weather.

Like many who were undeterred by rain, Lomographer blackcoffeeandtantrum was on hand to take some cool photos of the proceedings at the indie music stage, featuring many up-and-coming Filipino indie acts.

Using an LC-A+ with Colorsplash Flash, great shots of bands such as Ciudad, the Dorques and Pedicab are the result of our fellow’s hard work. And trust me, in that cramped space full of sweaty and rain-dampened indie aficionados, it was really hard work.

“Towards the end, my shots were all blurry and my finger showed up on almost every frame. Apparently, I’m not used to holding the LC-A+ properly anymore. I dropped my flash twice, broke my camera strap, but it was all gooooooooood!” said blackcoffeeandtantrum on his tumblr.

All good indeed.

The Lomo LC-A+ is known worldwide for its amazing features: automatic exposure, extended ISO range, and multiple and long exposure capabilities. Get your own Lomo LC-A+ now!
