Every summer, in all towns and cities across the UK, the charity Cancer Research organizes sponsored 5/10km walks or runs to raise money to help in their fight against cancer.
This year, my housemate and her friend entered the Race for Life in Leeds to raise money for the cancer charity. Sadly, Kay’s mum has recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer, so this is a charity that is very close to her heart. I went along for the ride, and also to look after Kay’s 9 year old son Rhys, who was not allowed to run in this women only event. I took along 2 cameras to keep me and Rhys entertained while we sat and waited – the LC-A and the Fisheye No. 2.
While they completed the race (in less than an hour – well done, girlies!), Rhys and I played football, cheered on the runners and took silly photos. A great day out was had by all.
Every year, this event raises a ton of money for the excellent cancer charity. It also has a fun and friendly atmosphere, and next year I will definitely be joining them!
