Want to make your own camera? With a solid plan, some tools and lots of time, you can!
This handmade camera is a project lead by a creative agency called Kit Da Studio based in Hong Kong.
They have been doing this quite seriously. The camera is called KDS-POTO2, and has a lot of impressive features for a homemade camera:
• Interchangeable lenses! This version of the camera was made with two lenses: one pinhole and a lens taken from a Konica Waiwai.
• It works with 135 and 120 films.
• It has normal mode and B mode.
• It has a frame counter.
Find the step by step instructions on the website DIY Photography. And if you happen to have access to a laser cut machine, you will even find the Illustrator file to make the exact same pieces for this camera!
