Yes! A Kandor Candid Type camera with a flash! Very cool. It does look like it will rewind freely like the Sprocket Rocket. If it's the same size as the original Kandor, then it will probably expose the sprockets like the Sprocket Rocket too. I'm hoping it has true support for an interesting format like true square-frame or half-frame support. Here's what I want: A 22mm lens or wider, Square-frame or half-frame (without extra space between the frames), "B" mode like the original, easy multiple-exposures like the original, expose the sprocket area, tripod threads like the original, shutter release threads, a good flash.

the flash is so awesome. so sweet. so mouthwatering. i hope it will be compatible with other cameras because the connection from the side looks complicated. hope it has hotshoe. no idea what kind of glass it has. probably made of a bottle of rum. it smells like a big fish.

There are exposed screws. My guess? 48 shots on a 36 exposure roll with sprockets exposed. True 35mm square format without losing half a frame with each shot.

I thought it was a waterproef camera too at first, but it seems indeed impossible because of the screws and the gaps have no rubber seals or anything. Everyone thinks its waterproof because of the fishy and sailor remarks, but those just point to the fact that it's a 'sardinecan'camera, not underwater at all. Would have been cool though.

No, those look like stainless steel screws to me and rubber o-ring seals could easily be concealed within a flange. Underwater cam it certainly could be...but the flash on the side does make me wonder...

I don't think it's waterproof. I think the sailor references are because it's an update of a Sardine Can camera.
To find out what's cool about the Irwin Kandor Candid Type cameras, you can do a Google search for pictures etc. Basically, in the 1930s, there was a rise in the popularity of what they called "mini" or "candid" cameras. They took advantage of the smallness of the newly popular 127 film, also known as "vest pocket" film. Most of the "mini" or "candid" cameras had fixed focus, aperture, and shutter speed. They were all very small and most of them were made out of bakelite. The Irwin Kandor Candid Type cameras were made out of metal and looked like a sardine can. They were a beautiful art deco design. Very convenient. Very elegant solution. Very cheap, and very popular. This update adds a flash that looks like what would have been available for other cameras at the time.

I've just had an email from Lomography to advertise the impending launch and spotted two little details.
It looks like there's a frame size selector. Can't quite tell if it's full frame and half frame but I hope it is. Also, it has this printed on the camera - 'Keep contents close and candid' which pretty much confirms it's Kandor Candid origins.

@panchoballard I've also seen the email and I can point out that the selector marks "B - N" (which I think that stands for Bulb and Normal) and on the other side it marks "mx" (which obviously is multiexposure). I can't wait!
