Photo Exhibition Dedicated to Thomas Bernhard

If you are an analogue photography lover who also enjoys literature, you might want to know about a recent exhibit at the WestLicht Gallery.

This year, the famous Austrian author, Thomas Bernhard, would have been 80 years old. To commemorate this important event, Westlicht Photographica organized an analogue photography exhibition called “THOMAS BERNHARDDAS FÜHRT ALLES ZU NIXFOTOGRAFIEN VON SEPP DREISSINGER.”

Thomas Bernhard was born on February 8, 1931 in Herleen, Netherlands. He was raised by his grandparents in Austria, who pushed for an artistic education. He later became a novelist, playwright and poet and is currently considered to be one of the most important German speaking authors of the postwar era. For more info on Thomas Bernhard, including essays, works and interviews, visit www.thomasbernhard.org.

The exhibition, held in February through May, hosted about 120 photographs taken by Sepp Dreissinger between 1977 and 1988 as well as 12 black and white portraits by Johann Barth.

Apart from the exhibition, the book, “Was reden die Leute: 58 Begegnungen mit Thomas Bernhard,” will also be published and made available at the WestLicht Bookshop.
