    Either would make the text on the barrel illegible if taken too far.

    @yopanic apparently read my comments on the last Fresh Bait. But what does it do? Obviously the Sprocket Rocket is a redress of the Dick Tracy cam but it does more. What does this Kandor rehash do?

    Definitely the Irvine Kandor "sardine can" type camera, hence the Fishy connotations.

    Looking at this picture, the viewfinder is near identical to that on the fresh bait pt 4 picture;

    Interesting random fact: The original production Irwin Kandor was funded by the Chicago Mafia. Each sardine can was stamped with New York rather than Chicago to keep the Police off their tracks!

    I hope LSI havent had to seek funding from the Mafia, too?!

    Regardless of what it's modeled after, it's probably some kind of weighted underwater camera, like the old Frogeye (sort of).

    Really, I don't think that is an underwater one, I think that maybe has a zoom lens like a pirate scope :D

    as said in a previous clue it's unlikely that it's and underwater camera because there were bare screws and a big slit on clue four which would surely let water in? i just hope it's 35mm film

    X-ray camera? ;)
    That would be pretty awesome though, if not a little dangerous. Not sure health and safety would approve.

    Absolutely an updated Irwin Kandor Candid Type camera. These were commonly known as "Sardine Can" cameras. They original shot 127 film, just like the Dick Tracy on which the Sprocket Rocket is based. The Kandor Candid had a telescoping 50mm lens for convenient storage. Obviously this one has a telescoping lens too. It had a "B" (called "Timed") mode and tripod threads. I can't find info on the shutter speed, but it might have been fairly slow - maybe 1/30". That's probably why they put tripod threads on it. Irwin made a couple of other "candid" cameras, but this was the most deluxe and the only one with that type of viewfinder. Since it originally shot 127, I'm pretty sure this will be another sprocket hole type camera. I don't think it will be double-wide like the Sprocket Rocket, because these were intended to be compact cameras. The original didn't have support for a flash, but I hope this one does. One of the clues implies that this one will be able to rewind just like the Sprocket Rocket. They could make this a true square-frame camera. That would be exceedingly cool. They could also make it a half-frame. That would also be exceedingly cool. Either way, they would need a significantly wider-angle lens than what was on the original. The original was made out of metal and was a bit heavy for its size. The update looks like it's made entirely out of plastic. That's good thing.
