The challenge: produce the best panoramic image of Cape Town using all different kinds of software and cameras. But the big question at the end is: who's going to be the winner? A software or maybe our Lomo Spinner?
The Gadget Show (series 15, episode 1) had, amongst other things, the following interesting challenge: produce the best panoramic image of Cape Town by using all different kinds of software and cameras.
Pollyanna is using software to produce a panoramic shot from a set of digital images while Ortis will be using camera hardware, amongst others, the Lomography Spinner 360.
Pollyanna uses Photosynth, a software which takes the photos, mashes them together, recreating a 3D scene. It is different to any static photograph or video as the fun thing about it is that it is very interactive. It allows you to move around, dive into the scenery, exploring every little detail.
On the other hand Ortis used the low-tech version out of the two, involving to shoot, develop and print the image, getting in the end a stunning 360 degree panoramic photograph taken with the Lomo Spinner.
