Let’s face it. With the advent of technology and the Internet, the whole porn industry has been completely revolutionized and transformed into an entirely different animal altogether. Even a cursory search of the most innocent terms in Google yields shocking results. But Jonathan Leder, Photographer and proprietor of Jacques Magazine, seeks to change this in his own little way.
Mr. Leder’s photographs are a throwback to the vintage magazines that left something to the imagination. He also refuses to do any post-processing and uses only natural light. He is quoted by the NY Times saying “A lot of quote-unquote porn is just simply disgusting,” Mr. Leder said, offering his view of the adult entertainment industry. “It’s so cheap and so vulgar, it just turns everybody off.”
Kind of reminds us of ourselves, doesn’t it? Granted we aren’t pornstars (hmmm…), but we both share the sentiments of bringing back the beauty and the art in our respective industries. Long live analogue!
