My Little Fisheye

The Fisheye Files is an interesting website that is dedicated to anything and everything to do with our big eyed buddy. Check out the humble origins and cool back story of one of the cutest sites out there that's keeping us glued one distorted image at a time.

My love for Lomo Fisheye photography started when I saw a bright pink little camera at Urban Outfitters. When I bought it, I thought I would use it maybe once or twice, and then my amusement would be over. But after developing my first roll I was completely hooked on Fisheye photos. Now, I always have my Lomo camera on me wherever I go. I love taking photos of my friends when we’re out having fun, my little pug Chloe, and all of life’s little oddities along the way. After accumulating a ton of photos and realizing I had nothing to do with them,  I started a blog I’ve had it up for over a year now and I post new photos a couple of times a week. My good friend Chung (akaCan) loved the blog, and wanted to start a website with all the fisheye photos.

After a couple months of brainstorming we started thefisheyefiles.com. We wanted to make our website more than just a place to post photos, so we started making videos as well. Can is the video man – he shoots videos of me taking photos and edits them, with music picked by me of course. When our friends started visiting our website, they wanted to be a part of the experience as well, so we invited them to be guest photographers.

Taking Fisheye photos has become a big part of my life and it’s pretty much what I’m known for among my friends. It has made for some interesting times, my favorite being at a Horrors show. After the show I was drinking with my friends and one of them screamed, “there’s the singer!!” My cat-like reflexes immediately had me reach for my Lomo and snap a photo of him, but unfortunately for me his reflex was to throw his drink in my face. At the time not so funny but in retrospect, pretty hilarious. Who could blame the guy, the flash is so bright! On a sad side note, I lost that roll of film and was never able to see the picture that cost me my dry clothes!
