On 29th May 2010, over 700 visitors made up of analogue lovers in Beijing, 40 medias and 5 TV stations gathered at San Li Tun Road of Chaoyang District. Beijing, China. They were there to witness the historical day of launching the new Lomography Gallery Store in Beijing.
We were honoured with the presence of respected people in Lomography: Florian, HOD of Marketing Coordination & Development international of Lomographic Society International; Pan Chan, Director of Lomography Asia Pacific; Howie, Manager of Lomography Society China; and Roman, Manager of Lomography Gallery Store Beijing and Tourism Austria.
The launching ceremony kicked off with a traditional Chinese lion dance followed by “Bring-the-noise” fireworks, after Florian executed the dragon dotting ceremony. This traditional launching ceremony attracted more passers-by and squeezed in to the new Lomography Gallery Store with curiosity – “What the hell is Lomography?”
After the lion dance, Florian and Pan had a Diana-shaped cake cutting ceremony. We also provided not only the Diana cake but lots of snacks and beers for all the visitors to have fun all night long, while listening to the live music performance led by Liu Qiang, store manager of the new Lomography Gallery Store Beijing.
