This is about my first encounter with Holga. Enjoy

A very small part of this story started many years ago (I can’t remember when, actually). There was me reading a manga: I’ve noticed that a japanese school girl was holding a Lomo Camera, and she said: “I started to shoot just few days ago, and I’m in the Photographers Club now. This is a Lomo”.
I can clearly remember that moment, despite I don’t know what’s the title of the manga, neither the story.
Last year I was randomly check some shots on Flickr and I started to read words like “Holga, Diana, Lomo, Lubitel, Lomography and Toy Cameras”. What the hell …?
I didn’t realize the real nature of lomography until I went to London, last summer. Just few weeks after my staying I went to “The Photographer’s Gallery”. What a wonderful place! I was there for the exihibition “When You’re a Boy – Men’s Fashion Styled by Simon Foxton”, but what an unespected surprise when I reached the Cafe and I noticed the shop.
My eyes couldn’t stop to hang around, stopping on everything and then …BAM! Colors, plastic, boxes and films.
I had a seat on the floor and I stayed in that pose for half an hour. When my friend started to clear her throat I realized I had to go.
I came back to that shop as soon as I get my first pay as a waitress (I have been in London for nearly three months studying, working and visiting the city), and I had a seat on the floor.
Again.
Something was calling me, a strange sensation … like: “You know you can’t get out of here without one of those … uhm … things”. When my eyes encountered the CMY Holga Box I thought “Whoa! This is the craziest camera ever! I have to buy it!”. I get out of the builing holding the box, smiling at the strangers and nearly dancing on the street. I went to Regent’s Park, had a seat on the grass and unboxed it.
