A picture paints a thousand words so our little collaboration with GPS (Global Poetry System) says quite a mouthful!
Genuine poetry can communicate before it is understood.
T. S. Eliot
Inspiration and beauty are everywhere. Whether you’re awestruck during the first time you see Japan’s famed cherry blossoms or something calls out to you during your daily walk to the office, inspiration can strike anywhere. When you do get that artistic burst of insight, it’s up to you how you act on it. You can whip out your trusty analogue Lomography cameras or, write a few verses about it and send it out to the GPS Global Poetry System!
What exactly is GPS? Global Poetry System is a Southbank Centre project to explore and map the poetry of the world. It’s based on the idea that poetry is all around us, from gravestones to graffiti, from birthday cards to blogs, in the landscape and in our memories.
So whether you see the beauty of the world in pictures or in words, just don’t forget to Find it, Map it, and Share it to everyone else!
