The LomoStaff elves are working hard to edit and check everyone’s submissions, and we’re introducing a new feature that benefits both parties! For your convenience and pleasure, the photo upload for magazine submissions is now easier! Take a look at these tips and tricks so you could (almost) get your posts to look as you want formatted for all your Magazine submissions!
Cover Photo
For everything else to work, you first need to upload a cover photo for your Magazine entry submission, otherwise the system will reject your entry. Whatever else follows could be formatted by using our syntax codes listed below.
Including a single image into the blog
Instead of reuploading your images you can can copy the image id´s of our photos url and paste into your blogtext:
Suppose you want to include this photo in a blog post: IMAGE
All you have to do is to add:
Adding a Gallery into the Post
The procedure is nearly the same as for single images – you only need to copy paste more image ID’s and add a simple syntax code!
For example: You have these photos:
- http://www.lomography.com/photos/132337
- http://www.lomography.com/photos/133151
You want to have a gallery out of those three photos. All you need to do is to format it this way into the blog text:
The images in the gallery will be displayed in the same order they are listed:
Captions
To give it a subtitle (same for galleries) just add in the very next line:
It will then look like this:
My vintage love. – shhquiet
If you don’t want to add a subtitle to your photo please just leave one line blank after the photo link!
Links
If you want to add a link please use double quotation marks and a colon for the link caption followed by the link:
It will display as Lomography
Special Formatting Requests
Got special formatting requests for your Magazine Submissions? Contact the Magazine LomoStaff if you have any specific requests and we’ll attend to them as soon as we can!
And finally…
Q. Will there be a full-blown blog editing function in the future? Like having different colours, fonts, rich media etc. possible on my Magazine entries?
A. We do not have any plans as of the moment implementing this. We’d like to keep things simple and uniform for the website, so it’s easier for everyone’s eyes :)

p.s. [Photo] / [PhotosGallery] are case-sensitive so make sure to capitalize ;)
boredbone
is it possible to re-edit previous blog posts?
kazarareta
@boredbone: at the moment, nope

Thanks for posting this useful info :)
Would it be an idea to put this info / or a link to this info on the submission forms (also, the current "textile" link doesn't work)

Super !!!
But I have a little concern: if we use the address of the photo, as it is in our home (e.g. http://www.lomograph(…)otos/202739), if the photo is moved to another album, the link could break... It will be nice to get the address of the shots once they're submitted, so that their address is inside the submission and independent of what's going on in our homes... And I agree with dazb, you could put a link to this post in the submit section... Anyway, great work guys !!!

This is great. I submitted a camera review a little over a week ago and could not figure out how to get a picture of the camera to display as the cover photo. Now that I can do that, should I resubmit the review?
Thanks for the update/improvements, LSI! Very appreciated.

I think it would be great to have this as a permalink on submissions as I know I won't be able to remember all of it!
dirklancer
I'm giving this a try right now! :)

Does this work for the regional sites? For example, if you want to submit a location to the spanish version of lomography, can you format your entry this way?
kdstevens
This is so cool! It will make things a lot easier!
kazarareta
@everyone: yes this works for all localized versions of the website ;)
trash-gordon-from-outer-space
That's great. I like how you guys and girls keep improving the website.
takezzo
it would be great if you can 'preview' your post before submitting to confirm everything is right.
spoeker
def supporting the idea of takezzo: a'preview' of the posts would be very helpful :)

Whoho I needed this! My submissions always come out not exactly the way I want them to appear. I hope we can also edit our submissions, soon! :)
